Topic of Module: Fierce Conversations
Date: January 8th, 2013
Presenter(s): Nancy Boucher
Summary: Fierce Conversations is a leadership method that provides practical ways of communicating with people and maintaining strong workplace relationships. This module looked at how to inspire greatness in others and how to most effectively handle difficult and emotional conversations.
Reflection and Application: I really enjoyed this module and it was profoundly beneficial for me to role play difficult conversations with other participants. Our entire staff actually took the training not long after this session and I can say that we now do business with increased transparency and thoughtfulness. We are happier and I think we better understand each other.
From this module, I took the challenge to “be in the present moment” at school, and in my personal life. It has been difficult considering I love handheld technology and am forever trying to complete my “To Do List”. I do however believe that this challenge has improved my relationships with both my students and my family. I listen better and I take the time to show I care and am more thorough in my relationships.
